Shakira is the Head of Litigation with 20 years of experience in a wide range of complex legal matters. Shakira’s most memorable matrimonial matter was when she successfully facilitated the institution and resolution (by consent) of divorce proceedings involving a minor child whilst the instructing parent lived in the United Kingdom. Shakira’s litigation experience currently enables her to assist refugees on a daily basis from throughout Africa as well as India & Pakistan with the simple application of the Refugees Act, the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, the South African Citizenship Act, the Identification Act, the Public Service Act, the Births and Deaths Registration Act, the Immigration Act and the Marriages Act together with the relevant Rules and Regulations. Shakira previously lectured to law students at Varsity College (Durban North & Westville, KwaZulu-Natal).
